Best Places to Purchase a Short-Term Rental Property near Bend, Oregon

Updated: Nov 3

Are you loving the idea of buying a second home or a short-term rental in the Bend area? You may not be aware that finding a permitted home in Bend has become increasingly difficult. At the time of creating this video, the city of Bend is considering increasing the required distance between short-term rentals within the city of Bend. If a short-term rental is what you are after, I suggest purchasing your home in one of the three communities I cover in this blog.

Sisters, Oregon, is about a 30-minute drive Northwest of Bend. Spectacular views of the towering mountain peaks will greet you as you stroll in. Sisters is a charming small town that will give you the feeling of the Old West. This is a popular destination for those enjoying its natural beauty and year-round recreational opportunities. The community also attracts visitors attending annual celebrations like the Sisters Rodeo, Sisters Quilt Show, and the Sister’s Folk Festival.

Black Butte Ranch is a resort community located 8 miles Northwest of Sisters. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the resort entrance from Bend. Black Butte is located at the base of the Cascade mountains and is surrounded by the Deschutes national forest. This resort area is a quiet place to relax as well as recreate. It offers many activities, including nearby hiking, fishing, golf, tennis, swimming, canoeing, and 18 miles of bike paths.

Sunriver, Oregon, is located 20 minutes South of Bend. It is a resort community like Black Butte. However, it is larger and has more amenities. Within Sunriver, there are quieter areas if that is what you are looking for. Our family loves to spend time in Sunriver to enjoy the miles of bike paths and float the Deschutes River. There is also a water slide park, golf, tennis, and access to mountain bike trails. This is also a popular area in the winter due to its proximity to Mt. Bachelor.

A real estate investment is a fantastic opportunity to provide steady cash flow, substantial appreciation, and tax advantages. Working with local experts who understand the Central Oregon rental market and who will consider your unique interests and goals can set you up for a successful investment.

Don't hesitate to reach out; I would love to help you find your next investment property!
